Even at the Côte d’Azur it is possible to find quiet beaches! Away from the throngs of tourists and noise of Antibes beaches or Juan les Pins, some beaches at the Cap d’Antibes allow you to enjoy the Mediterranean away from the crowds. Here are details of some lesser known beaches at the Cap d’Antibes including those close to l’Abri de l’Olivette which we consider to be the most picturesque site in the Antibes area. To enjoy them fully we suggest you rent holiday accommodation at Cap d’Antibes or seasonal accommodation at Juan les Pins.
After the Salis beach (at the end of Boulevard James Wyllie) and beyond Salis Port, you come to the Cap d’Antibes. After a few hundred metres, on the left there are a few creeks away from the crowds. Small maybe but if you arrive early it is a small but paradisiacal place. The view is fantastic, facing the old town of Antibes and the Alps and to the left can be seen the lined up parasols on Salis beach.
Out of this world would be a good way to describe this unusual site on the Côte d’Azur! Along the Cap d’Antibes, down the coast from Juan les Pins, and at the end of the Avenue du Maréchal Juin just before the Hotel Eden Roc there is a small parking lot at the bend in the road leading to l’Abri de l’Olivette. This small and rather unusual port hosts some lovely places within a picturesque setting. Between one end and the other of this charming port you can find several pebbled beaches with small creeks. Here, motor boats are not made welcome! Admire the transparency of the water and the calm of the beaches.
Along the Cap d’Antibes, in the direction of Juan les Pins, and on the Avenue du Maréchal Juin, several small beaches can be found. Generally quite straight they face the pine woods of Juan les Pins in the Juan and Cannes seaside resorts and are calmer than the beaches in the centre of Juan although normally composed of pebbles with small rocky creeks. A single fine sand beach can be found here, Ondes beach, a straight and very pleasant beach.
